Iran's Progress Remarkable Despite Years of Sanctions

The Brazilian ambassador said,” Despite enduring more than forty years of international sanctions, the Islamic Republic of Iran has made significant progress in various fields that the people of the world are not familiar with and it is necessary to provide proper information in this regard. We have tried to present a true image of Iran in Brazil, and scientific and academic exchanges can be very helpful in this regard.”

Hawzah News Agency- the Brazilian Ambassador to Iran Laudemar Goncalves de Aguiar Neto, had a meeting with Hujjat al -Islam Khaleqpour, the Vice chancellor of Al-Mustafa International University, which was held in Qom on Saturday, September 17. During the meeting the Brazilian Ambassador expressed his satisfaction with visiting Al-Mustafa International University and said, "The participation of Brazilian scholars in Al-Mustafa University makes us pleased, and we hope that this meeting will lay the groundwork for us to increase mutual cooperation.”

Mr. Laudemar Goncalves de Aguiar Neto considered his visit to the Lady Masuma (PBUH) Holy Shrine as one of his memorable experiences and stated,” One of the fields of increasing cultural cooperation is the tourism industry, which can be very efficient in increasing mutual ties. Also, strengthening scientific and academic cooperation between the two countries is one of our goals since the development of science between countries can eliminate the effects of false and negative Western propaganda.”

He continued,” Next year, Iran and Brazil will celebrate their 120th anniversary of bilateral relations, and we hope that in the remaining time, we will be able to take good measures in order to promote scientific relations between universities and scientific centers, as well as other areas of cooperation between the two countries.”

In this meeting, Hujjat al -Islam Khaleqpour, the vice chancellor of Al-Mustafa International University also introduced al-Mustafa and stated,” Al-Mustafa is one of the prestigious academic centers in the Islamic Republic of Iran, which has students from all over the world in nearly 160 scientific fields and trends in face-to-face and virtual form as well as long-term and short-term courses.”

Referring to the study of a number of Brazilians at Al-Mustafa University, he explained the possible fields for expanding scientific and academic activities of Al-Mustafa University in Brazil and asserted, “Brazilian scholars in various fields including law, economics, psychology and other fields can study in Al-Mustafa University and be among the most effective scientific staff in this country.”

At the end, Hujjat al -Islam Khaleqpour expressed his hope that this meeting will provide the basis for developing scientific and cultural cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Brazil.
