Hawzah News Agency- In an interview with Islam Times, Sabu explained that Iran's experience cannot be understood solely from a political or economic perspective. Rather, it should be viewed as an integrated system that combines moral and religious values with the governance of a modern state. He noted that this balance has contributed to domestic stability and strengthened Iran's ability to confront external challenges.
He added that, with its strategic significance and a population of more than 90 million, Iran is an example of a country that has successfully integrated its internal diversity within a comprehensive national framework based on a shared identity and unity around the state project. Sabu described this as one of the most important components of Iran's strength.
He further stated: "Iran's real strength does not stem solely from its material or military capabilities, but from the intellectual and social cohesion that binds the people to their institutions and leadership." He added that this cohesion has given Iran the resilience and continuity needed to navigate an exceptionally complex international environment.
The Malaysian envoy went on to discuss the international landscape, stating that the world is clearly transitioning from a unipolar order to a multipolar one—a phase in which the traditional dominance of certain major powers is gradually declining while new regional and international powers continue to emerge.
He said these developments are no longer merely theoretical; they have become a tangible reality reflected in international politics as well as in economic and security alliances. According to Sabu, the United States is no longer the sole dominant actor in the international system, and many countries are now seeking greater independence in their political and economic decision-making.
He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran is among the most prominent actors in this transformation because its regional role continues to expand and it possesses the capacity to influence the security and political dynamics of the Middle East. In his words, "The nature of the international community's engagement with Iran reflects the scale of this transformation in the global balance of power."
Sabu explained that Iran has become a regional center of gravity not merely because of its geographical location or capabilities, but as the result of a long accumulation of political, diplomatic, and strategic experience. This, he said, has made Iran a country that cannot be excluded from any future regional arrangements.
