Tehran Friday Prayer Leader Hails Yemen's Resistance, Warns of Western Assault on the Family

Hojatoleslam Haj Ali Akbari, the Friday prayer leader of Tehran, described the Yemeni nation's victory as the fruit of long patience, sincerity with God, and adherence to the principles of resistance, saying: "A believing nation is invincible, and divine assistance will be granted to those who assist in the way of God."

Hawzah News Agency- Hojatoleslam Haj Ali Akbari, the Friday prayer leader of Tehran, in this week's Friday prayer sermons in the capital, referring to the importance of the family and its relation to human social life, said: "Modern Western culture, by promoting immorality and licentiousness, has inflicted widespread damage on the foundation of the family, and today Western societies themselves are facing the consequences of this trend."

He added: "Modern ignorance, by raising the banner of shamelessness, immorality, and debauchery, and by crossing divine boundaries and trampling moral limits, and by giving authenticity to pleasure and lust, has committed one of the greatest crimes against humanity by damaging the foundation of the family."

The Tehran Friday prayer leader continued: "The creators of this culture, using the capacities of science, technology, and art, as well as by philosophizing and relying on their extensive powers, presented this degenerate culture to other societies and, in a widespread cultural assault, influenced the lives of many societies."

Hojatoleslam Haj Ali Akbari, referring to the fact that the consequences of this trend have affected Western societies themselves before others, stated: "Today, the sun of the family, which is the sun of all virtues, is setting in the West, and many people in these societies are facing the consequences of family collapse."

He said: "The West, by fueling licentiousness and debauchery and legalizing some manifestations of immorality and shamelessness, is rapidly turning into a family-less society, and the effects and consequences of this trend have afflicted themselves."

The Tehran Friday prayer leader considered marriage a sacred matter and one of the most important bonds between man and woman, adding: "Marriage is the first school of love, loyalty, affection, responsibility, and raising generations; but in Western societies, it has declined, and the desire to form a family has decreased in many cases."

He continued: "In such conditions, fleeting relationships devoid of commitment have expanded, permanent celibacy has increased, and other forms of relationships have replaced the family."

Hojatoleslam Haj Ali Akbari, referring to the situation of divorce in some Western societies, said: "Divorce has become a normal and widespread matter, and the foundation of families that still exist is in many cases subject to instability and collapse; to the extent that in some cases divorce is even considered a positive thing."

He considered children among the most important victims of family weakening and reminded: "Children who are born outside the marriage contract or grow up in unstable families face many problems and harms, and many of them live longing for the warm embrace of a father and a stable family."

The Tehran Friday prayer leader added: "With the collapse and instability of the family foundation, other harms also emerge; including emotional poverty, psychological problems and illnesses, loneliness, various fears and anxieties, depression, violence, suicide, and resorting to drugs, psychotropic substances, and alcoholic beverages."

Hojatoleslam Haj Ali Akbari, stating that Western society must be studied from this perspective, emphasized: "Today, we have this degenerate culture before us both as a lesson and a warning, and we must also consider it as a major defendant in the field of damaging family foundations through the promotion of immorality and licentiousness."

He added: "This culture has also attacked our culture as a treacherous, cunning, and dangerous aggressor, and this issue should not be neglected."

The Tehran Friday prayer leader, referring to the hegemonic powers' view of the family issue, continued: "From the perspective of global arrogance and based on the experiences and studies they have conducted, one of the shortcut ways to dominate societies and colonize them is to promote immorality, licentiousness, and debauchery, and as a result, weaken the family."

He emphasized: "A family-less society raises a family-less human; a human who becomes unattached, without identity, and without a homeland, and in such conditions, dominating society and taking control of its resources and reserves will be easier for hegemonic powers."

Hojatoleslam Haj Ali Akbari stated: "The family issue must be taken seriously as one of the fundamental and fateful issues of society, and we must be vigilant against cultural invasion and attempts to weaken the family foundation."

Iranian National Resistance Has Been Formed in the Trench of the Family

The Tehran Friday prayer leader, referring to the position of the family in Iranian and Islamic culture, said: "The Iranian nation, in the light of Islam, the school of Ahl al-Bayt (AS), and its ancient history and civilization, possesses a prominent advantage called the family, and is known in the world as a family-oriented, family-loving nation with deep emotional bonds."

He stated: "This characteristic is, on the one hand, a great obstacle against domination over the Iranian nation, and on the other hand, it is enviable for the enemies; they consider the Iranian national resistance to be based on the trench of the family, and for this reason, they pursue efforts to strike at the family in Iran."

The temporary Friday prayer leader of Tehran continued: "When they see the internal bonds, emotions, affection, and compassion among the Iranian people and observe the soft resistance of Iranians, they consider this capacity a serious obstacle to their goals."

Hojatoleslam Haj Ali Akbari, stating that "the Islamic Revolution of Iran was in reality a miracle of the family," stated: "The Islamic Revolution of Iran was a family revolution. In many nations, revolutions were formed with the centrality of parties and guilds, but in Iran, the revolution was a revolution of the people, and the family was present in it."

He noted: "The Iranian nation, based on its educational background, is an Ahl al-Bayt-oriented, family-oriented, and family-loving nation, and this reality can also be observed in the conduct of the Great Prophet (PBUH) and the Ahl al-Bayt of infallibility and purity (AS); a presence that in scientific, cultural, social, political, and revolutionary arenas was a family presence, and the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) were present alongside each other in various fields."

The Tehran Friday prayer leader said: "During the Islamic Revolution, we witnessed the miracle of the believing, mujahid, chaste, brave, zealous, loyal, and self-sacrificing family, and the Iranian people achieved victory in the 1979 revolution as a family and under the leadership of Imam Khomeini (RA)."

He stated: "During the Sacred Defense as well, families were in the field, and homes became nurseries for mujahids and brave warriors. The shining stars of Iran's sky, from great mujahids and martyrs to the radiant figures of the Sacred Defense, were products of families that grew in an atmosphere of affection, religious, and divine upbringing."

Hojatoleslam Haj Ali Akbari considered the role of mothers and wives of warriors during the Sacred Defense as a broad subject worthy of narration and recording, and emphasized: "Without the presence of mothers, wives, teenagers, and families, the Iranian nation could not have handled the war that was formed against the country."

He emphasized: "It was the family that made the Iranian nation victorious; a family based on faith and raised in the houses of God and mosques."

The Tehran Friday prayer leader, referring to the widespread presence of people in various occasions of the revolution, reminded: "During the revolution, we have seen the miracle of the family many times; the millions-strong presence of people in the 22 Bahman marches, Quds Day, Friday prayers, and other large gatherings has mainly been a family presence."

He stated: "The Iranian nation has also achieved its sedition-breaking presence by the blessing of the family and with family presence in the field."
