The Fourth Edition of the International Al-Ameed Quran Recitation Competition Was Held

The fourth episode of the International Al-Ameed Quran Recitation Competition in its third edition witnessed the participation of reciters from Iraq, Lebanon, and the Comoros Islands.

Hawzah News Agency- The Quranic Scientific Complex at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine organizes the competition, with the participation of a select group of readers representing 20 Arab and foreign countries.

The competition is overseen by an international judging panel, consisting of Sheikh Mohamed Basyouni from Egypt, Sheikh Dr. Basim Al-Abadi from Iraq, Dr. Mushtaq Al-Ali from Iraq, Sheik Mohamed Asfour from Egypt, the reciter Mr. Hassanein Al-Halou from Iraq, and the singer Mr. Karim Mousavi from Iran.

In the fourth episode of the competition, the adult category featured reader Abbas Muhammad Hamdan from Lebanon, and reader Abdul Rahman Ahmed Mamadi from the Comoros Islands, while the youth category included reader Youssef Hussein Kamel from Iraq.

The episode featured the British convert Philip Weir (Ammar), who confirmed that he was guided by the light of the Holy Quran after searching for answers to the questions that were on his mind. He found the answers in the verses of the Holy Book after communicating with one of the scholars, and he realized that Islam is the right path.

He added that he changed his name to Ammar after reading the biography of the great companion Ammar ibn Yasir, and his loyalty to the Prophet and the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon them). He wanted to emulate him and possess some of his faith.

Abdul Rahman Ahmed Mamadi from the Comoros Islands qualified for the semifinals in the adult category in the fourth episode, while the junior category contestants are waiting for the qualifiers from the upcoming episodes.

The competition is considered one of the contributions of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine in spreading Quranic culture, as it is the correct path for the betterment of the individual and society, with the participation of readers from Arab and foreign countries.
