President Pezeshkian meets with Ayatollah Arafi in Qom visit

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has held talks with Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, head of Iran's Islamic Seminaries and a member of the Guardian Council's clerical body, during a visit to the holy city of Qom.

Hawzah News Agency- The meeting took place Sunday at the office of the Islamic Seminaries' management, as part of the president's ongoing engagements in Qom.

President Pezeshkian presented a report on his administration's efforts in managing the country's affairs, expanding educational and healthcare justice, strengthening the role of mosques in neighborhood-based governance, and recent diplomatic developments.

"Navigating the country through difficult conditions has been possible only through divine grace, the guidance of the Leadership, and the people's support," Pezeshkian said, adding that his government has worked at every stage to maintain stability and calm while preventing disruptions to public services, drawing on all managerial and executive capacities to steer the nation through critical junctures.

Ayatollah Arafi stresses national unity

Ayatollah Arafi, for his part, offered condolences on the mourning days of Imam Hussein (PBUH) and the martyrdom of the late Supreme Leader, Grand Ayatollah Imam Khamenei (may his soul rest in peace). He underscored the imperative of preserving and strengthening national unity, cohesion, and authority, while expressing deep appreciation for the steadfastness of the revolutionary Iranian people.

The meeting came amid a period of national mourning and ongoing diplomatic and economic activity, with the president's Qom visit seen as part of broader efforts to maintain dialogue between the executive branch and the country's religious institutions.
