The event was attended by scholars, religious leaders, and a gathering of believers from various institutions.

In his address, Maulana Sheikh Hameed Jalal emphasized the pivotal status of Imam Mahdi (PBUH) in human history and future, stating, "Imam Mahdi (PBUH) is not only the savior of Muslims but the savior of all humanity, regardless of religion, sect, or ethnic differences."

He added, "Imam Mahdi (PBUH) is the redeemer of the nation and all mankind. Belief in a final savior is a conviction shared by many people across the world."

The Five Covenants with Imam Mahdi (PBUH)

The Sheikh outlined five fundamental covenants that Muslims and followers of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) uphold with Imam Mahdi (PBUH), which they will remain committed to until his blessed reappearance.

First: Commitment to Unity Among the Followers of Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT)
Sheikh Jalal stated that unity among the followers of the Ahl al-Bayt is a solid foundation for their strength and progress. He warned that internal disputes, grudges, and division could weaken their righteous resolve and create major problems within the community. Every follower must strive to strengthen solidarity, mutual forgiveness, cooperation, and prioritize the interests of religion and the community over personal gain.

Second: Preserving Unity Among All Tanzanian Muslims
The second covenant is to preserve unity among all Muslims in Tanzania, regardless of sectarian differences. The leader of Tanzania's Shiites noted that Islam is the religion of unity, and sectarian differences must not become a source of animosity and conflict. He called on Muslims to cooperate in charitable works, social development, safeguarding the dignity of Islam, and standing together against enemies of peace and solidarity.

Third: National Unity for All Tanzanian People
For the third covenant, Sheikh Jalal stated that followers of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) have a duty to preserve and strengthen national unity for all people of Tanzania, irrespective of religious, ethnic, or political differences. He emphasized that Tanzania is a nation built upon peace and solidarity, and protecting this unity is part of practicing Islamic values and the practical anticipation of Imam Mahdi's (PBUH) reappearance.

Fourth: Tolerance and Peaceful Coexistence
The fourth covenant is tolerance, peaceful coexistence, refraining from violence, and spreading love among the people. The leader of Tanzania's Shiites stated that patience, mutual respect, and wise dialogue are essential tools for dealing with differing viewpoints in society. He added that a tolerant society is one that comes closest to the values of justice and equity that Imam Mahdi (PBUH) will establish.

Fifth: Preserving Peace, Tranquility, and Justice
The fifth covenant is preserving peace, tranquility, and justice in society. The head of the Tanzanian Shiite Community stated that establishing justice, confronting oppression, and living based on fairness constitute the true preparation for welcoming Imam Mahdi (PBUH). He added that real peace is not achieved by words alone, but through acting justly, observing fairness, and caring for the vulnerable in society.

Appreciation and Concluding Prayer

At the end of the ceremony, Sheikh Hamdi Jalal thanked all the believers who participated in the event, as well as the scholars and leaders of the Bilal Institute for their role in successfully organizing it.

He also led the believers in a collective prayer, beseeching Almighty God (Glory be to Him, the Exalted) to hasten the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (PBUH) and to perpetuate peace and solidarity within society.
