Yemen’s Supreme Political Council Condemns US Aggression Against Venezuela

Yemen’s Supreme Political Council has strongly condemned a criminal US aggression against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, denouncing the targeting of the capital, Caracas, and civilian facilities, as well as the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife.

Hawzah News Agency- In a statement issued on Tuesday, the council said the actions carried out by the US constitute a serious and unprecedented act of aggression and a blatant violation of Venezuela’s national sovereignty and the freedom of its people.

The statement affirmed that such aggressive behavior reflects the true nature of US policy, which it said is based on attacking nations and imposing hegemony by force.

It added that these actions expose the collapse of US claims regarding respect for democracy and the rights of peoples, and pose a direct threat to all independent states that refuse to submit to external dictates.

The Supreme Political Council declared its full solidarity with Venezuela, stressing its legitimate right to defend its sovereignty, freedom, and independence.

It also called on free people around the world to condemn as this dangerous aggression, reject political and military bullying, and oppose the logic of dominance and arrogance pursued by US policy, warning that such behavior now threatens international peace and stability.

Venezuela has requested an urgent UN Security Council meeting following US attack in the early hours of Saturday, which President Donald Trump claimed led to the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro.

Caracas requested the meeting in response to “the criminal aggression perpetrated by the US government against our nation'', Foreign Minister Yvan Gil said in a statement on Telegram on Saturday.

“No cowardly attack will prevail against the strength of this people, who will emerge victorious'', Gil added.

In a letter to the UN, Venezuela’s Permanent Representative Samuel Moncada condemned Washington’s “colonial war” against his country.
