Dhaka, Bangladesh — A large spiritual gathering was held in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (peace be upon her), the revered daughter of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family), reflecting the deep-rooted devotion of the country’s Muslim community to the Ahlul Bayt (PBUT).

Hawzah News Agency- The ceremony took place in the Mirpur area of Dhaka and was attended by a significant number of religious scholars, community leaders, and followers of the Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them). Participants described the event as a manifestation of unity, faith, and reverence for one of the most esteemed figures in Islamic history.

Addressing the gathering, Hojatoleslam Syed Aftab Hussain Naqvi, a prominent Bangladeshi cleric, elaborated on the spiritual, moral, and intellectual stature of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (peace be upon her), drawing on verses from the Holy Quran and authentic Prophetic traditions.

“Hazrat Fatima Zahra (PBUH) occupies an unparalleled position in Islamic thought,” Naqvi said. “Her life represents the highest model of faith, dignity, knowledge, and moral excellence for both women and men.”

Emphasis on knowledge and intellectual advancement

Highlighting the scholarly dimension of Hazrat Fatima’s personality, the cleric described her as a “scholar without a teacher,” explaining that her knowledge was divinely inspired and rooted in her purity, spiritual proximity to God, and deep understanding of revelation.

He stressed that true adherence to the path of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (peace be upon her) requires Muslims to actively pursue knowledge and intellectual growth. “Those who claim to follow her example must place learning and scholarship at the center of their lives,” Naqvi said, urging young people in particular to excel in scientific and academic fields.

Referring to contemporary challenges facing the Muslim world, he underscored the importance of progress in medicine, engineering, and both the social and experimental sciences. “Only through serious commitment to education and research can the Islamic Ummah overcome underdevelopment and build a society that is informed, dignified, and resilient,” he added.

Call for moral and social reform

Other speakers at the ceremony echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the moral, social, and ethical dimensions of Hazrat Fatima Zahra’s life. They highlighted her role as a symbol of social justice, compassion, and resistance to injustice, calling for the promotion of Islamic ethics and human values in modern societies.

The ceremony concluded with collective prayers for unity and honor of the Islamic Ummah and for the wider dissemination of the teachings and values embodied by the Ahlul Bayt across the world.
