Hawzah News Agency- In a message issued on the occasion of the annual Nahj al-Balagha Conference held at the Jafariya Jund Seminary in Pakistan, Hojatoleslam Naqvi highlighted the enduring relevance of Imam Ali’s (AS) words in addressing modern intellectual and moral challenges.
He praised the efforts of the Pakistan Islamic Thought Center for organizing scholarly gatherings that have helped introduce the invaluable teachings of Nahj al-Balagha to wider audiences, describing such initiatives as a “blessed step toward enhancing the nation’s religious and intellectual awareness.”
“Transmitting the enlightening and eloquent words of Imam Ali (AS) to today’s society is not only a cultural necessity but also a religious and social responsibility,” he said. “Supporting academic and cultural efforts in this field is a vital mission for our time.”
Elaborating on the intellectual depth of Nahj al-Balagha, Hojatoleslam Naqvi stated: “The sermons and sayings of Imam Ali (AS)—much like the Holy Quran—despite their historical antiquity, remain rich with insight and innovation in moral, political, and social dimensions. In an age marked by ideological confusion and moral decline, Nahj al-Balagha continues to shine as a beacon of truth and guidance.”
He emphasized that the book’s comprehensive nature—covering doctrinal, ethical, social, historical, and political themes—enables it to offer new perspectives and solutions for the complex issues of the modern world. “The Imam’s divine eloquence and profound wisdom open new horizons in intellectual and moral education,” he added.
In conclusion, Hojatoleslam Naqvi thanked the organizers of the conference and urged participants, especially the youth, to seize the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Nahj al-Balagha. “It is hoped that such gatherings will be a source of blessings and help strengthen Alawite thought and values in society,” he said.
