Hawzah News Agency- Speaking during his visit to Iran and in an interview with Hawzah News Agency, Hojatoleslam Abedi underlined that Iran’s endurance and victories, particularly in the face of Zionist aggression during the 12-day confrontation with Israel, stem from divine support and the sincere efforts of its people and leadership.
“Iran’s strength is not merely political or military; it is rooted in spiritual support from the Imam of the Time (may Allah hasten his reappearance), whose divine guidance protects this nation,” he said.
“Without his care, the enemies would have destroyed us long ago.”
The cleric added that Iran’s achievements are the result of the management of the Islamic system, the people’s steadfast prayers, and the devotion of the followers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) around the world.
He cautioned, however, that “the enemy never abandons hostility; defeat only makes him more dangerous,” calling for constant vigilance and unity.
Challenges of Seminary Education in India
Commenting on the situation of seminaries in India, Hojatoleslam Abedi said the main challenge facing today’s students is the decline in motivation and genuine love for knowledge.
“In the past, scholars endured great hardships to acquire knowledge. Today, we must revive that same spirit of perseverance and respect for teachers,” he stressed.
He urged students to pursue learning with discipline and sincerity, maintaining close bonds with their teachers.
“Science without love and motivation cannot flourish or influence society,” he said.
Need to Strengthen Theological Foundations
Hojatoleslam Abedi highlighted the necessity of consolidating the fundamentals of seminary education, particularly in Arabic language and Islamic sciences.
“Just as no building stands without a firm foundation, education without solid principles cannot produce meaningful results,” he said.
“Special attention must be given to the field of beliefs, especially the doctrine of Imamate, which defines our identity and distinguishes our religious school.”
He warned that while mistakes in jurisprudence can be corrected, “weakness or doubt in beliefs cannot easily be repaired,” emphasizing the need to safeguard doctrinal foundations against ideological erosion.
Effective Communication and Missionary Work
The Indian cleric also called on seminary students and preachers to strengthen their relationship with the people—particularly the youth—through understanding, empathy, and proper communication.
“Religious propagation requires closeness to the people, but never at the cost of compromising principles,” he noted.
“Understanding their language and problems is essential so that the religious message can touch their hearts.”
He underscored that effective communication extends beyond words—it involves moral integrity, trust-building, and sincere guidance.
“Knowledge and piety are the twin pillars of successful missionary work,” Hojatoleslam Abedi concluded.
“Only those who possess both can truly illuminate society.”
