Palestinian Resistance decides what it sees fit: Sheikh Qassem

The Palestinian Resistance is the side entitled to decide what it deems appropriate regarding the Gaza Strip, affirmed Hezbollah's Secretary-General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, emphasizing that surrender is nowhere in the Palestinians' dictionary.

Hawzah News Agency- In a speech marking a year since the martyrdom of Sheikh Nabil Qawouk and Sayyed Suhail al-Hussaini, Sheikh Qassem addressed the Gaza-related plan of US President Donald Trump, pointing out that it is fraught with dangers.

He added that the original plan, which was presented in a draft form to some Arab states, was subsequently modified after meetings with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, resulting in amendments that serve the Israeli entity entirely and align with the so-called "Greater Israel" project.

Sheikh Qassem further added that, after failing to achieve its objectives through aggression and massacres, the Israeli occupation now seeks to realize this project through political means, stating that the unfolding events in Gaza over the past two years are an integral part of this very project and asserting that everything in the region is interconnected.

On the Lebanese front, Hezbollah's Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem stated that "Israel's" objectives are not an inevitability for Lebanon, adding that the occupation specifically targets civilians and educated individuals to pressure the Resistance. He explained that "they expected us to reciprocate their violations to give them a pretext for continuing their assaults, but we did not do that and we thwarted this maneuver''.

"With a proud and historic people, who cannot be defeated, we have created a form of parity that prevents the enemy from achieving its aims'', he asserted.

Sheikh Qassem noted that the US meddling in Lebanon was predicated on the idea of building a state on the assumption that Hezbollah is weak, stating, "They interfered in the structure of the state to achieve through politics what they failed to achieve through war''.

he considered the Lebanese government to be negligent, asserting that it must raise the issue of Israeli violations of Lebanese sovereignty in each of its sessions, arguing that instead of being preoccupied with minor issues, it must work toward reconstruction.

Speaking about the attempts by some to sow unrest between the Army and the Resistance, Sheikh Qassem highlighted how the Lebanese Army met such attempts "with wise and measured responses''.

Sheikh Qassem further emphasized that there exists a rational will dedicated to building Lebanon, noting that both the Army and the Resistance have consistently condemned any form of sedition between them and stressed that it must be entirely avoided.

Regarding the Global Sumud Flotilla and the activists of various nationalities converging from around the world to stop the genocide in Gaza, Sheikh Naim Qassem stated that "this carries such a great significance," arguing that countries in the region, especially Arab nations, should learn from Spain's stance and take similar action to this end.

In his speech marking the first anniversary of the martyrdom of the two leaders, Sheikh Nabil Qawouk and Sayyed Suhail al-Hussaini, Sheikh Qassem stated that Sheikh Qawouk, a companion of the martyr Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, had been responsible for Preventive Security since 2018 until his martyrdom. He emphasized that he cared for the freedom fighters and was very close to them across all fronts.

Sheikh Qassem also noted that martyred Sheikh Qawouk made the necessary contribution and participation in confronting the war imposed on the Islamic Republic of Iran, considering that when the enemies target Iran, the Islamic Resistance, justice, and Palestine, they are aiming at the same target, and “therefore everyone present in the region must bear the responsibility each is capable of."

The Secretary-General of Hezbollah pointed out that 12 religious scholars were martyred in the People of Might Battle, emphasizing that scholars are an integral part of the nation’s political, jihadist, and practical course. He added that Sheikh Qawouk embodied a giving spirit filled with awareness and faith.

Speaking about the martyr Sayyed Suhail al-Husseini, Sheikh Qassem said this freedom fighter stood out for having been alongside the martyred commander Imad Mughniyeh from the very beginning, accompanying him from the earliest steps. He added that Mughniyeh relied on him in security-related Resistance work in particular.

He also added that Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah had tasked Sayyed al-Hussaini with following up on the economic crisis that had struck in Lebanon, where he established several projects to help the people of Lebanon.

The Secretary-General explained that Sayyed al-Hussaini assumed security responsibility for the Beirut region in 199, and then served as a secretary to Hajj Radwan and then as head of the counter-espionage unit until 2000. Sheikh Qassem further explained that in 2008, he assumed the leadership of the General Staff and had since become an assistant to Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

Sheikh Qassem also highlighted how Sayyed al-Hussaini devoted attention to the family needs and families of the freedom fighters, who described him as an educator, mentor, and teacher. He stressed that al-Hussaini was keen to remain an anonymous soldier, away from the spotlight and fame.
