Hawzah News Agency- In a message issued on Monday, Zakani said the late cleric's deep insight into jurisprudence and the principles of Islamic law, his unmatched mastery of the science of narrators and hadith, his remarkable scholarly memory, his precision and caution in deduction, and his special attention to understanding the generations of narrators and the Shia hadith heritage set him apart among his peers.
The mayor said the passing of the godly scholar, pious jurist and high-ranking authority of the Shia world is a great loss for the Islamic seminaries and the Islamic community, and the departure of one of Shia Islam's precious scholarly and spiritual treasures.
Zakani described the late jurist as one of the firm links connecting the contemporary seminary to the deep-rooted tradition of Shia jurisprudence, and one of the prominent heirs of the scholarly school of the Qom seminary, who spent decades of his blessed life deepening religious understanding, conducting research and teaching, training students, and preserving and transmitting the scholarly heritage of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
He said the late cleric's scholarly presence was a haven and a teacher for generations of seminary scholars and researchers, and that his scholarly works and students will carry on that blessed legacy in the Islamic seminaries.
The mayor said the loss of such scholars is not merely the loss of a single figure, but the loss of part of the living memory and scholarly heritage of the Islamic seminaries — a heritage shaped over decades of scholarly struggle, piety, sincerity and deep connection with the teachings of the Quran and the Prophet's household, and passed down generation after generation.
Zakani extended his condolences to the anticipated Imam Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance), Leader of the Islamic Revolution, grand sources of emulation and prominent scholars, the Islamic seminaries, the late cleric's students and admirers, the faithful people of Iran, and particularly his honorable family and survivors.
He asked God Almighty to grant the godly scholar elevated status, divine pleasure and boundless mercy, and companionship with his pure ancestors, and to bestow patience and reward upon his noble family and all his admirers.
