Ayatollah Seyyed Morteza Langarudi, a devoted Shia scholar and disciple of Mirza Naeini, first stood in support of the Constitutional Revolution and in opposition to tyranny. However, after recognizing the deviations in the movement, he distanced himself from it. Later, with the emergence of the Islamic movement under the leadership of Imam Khomeini, he became one of its staunchest supporters and advocates.
