Hawzah News Agency - Addressing the International Conference on tafsir Tasnim held at Dar al-Shifa School in Qom on Monday, Hojat-ol-Islam Morteza Javadi Amoli said that Ayatullah Javadi Amoli has benefited from the sciences of theology, Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), philosophy and mysticism in compiling the Quran exegesis.
He noted that in a in a letter in 2006, the head of ISESCO wrote about this interpretation saying one of the greatest merits of this interpretation is that various sciences have been put to the service of the Quran.
“Not only did Ayatollah Javadi Amoli approach exegesis with a scholarly perspective, but whenever he reached verses of divine mercy and paradise, he spoke from the position of the herald of God’s mercy to realize that Quranic aspect. Thus, it is both a herald of divine mercy and a warning of divine grace. As the Leader of the Islamic Revolution said, this interpretation is an honor for the seminary,” he stated.
Hojat-ol-Islam Javadi Amoli also said the first benefit of this interpretation was that the Islamic community and the hearts of the Islamic nation became more familiar with the delightful fragrance of the Quran, and the issue of deeper knowledge of the Quran’s other layers by the people began.
He added, “Thanks to this interpretation, spirituality and mysticism reached the society, and Quranic researchers and scholars also benefited from this atmosphere. Therefore, the first benefit of the interpretation was the filling of the public space of society with the fragrance of this interpretation and the increase in people’s love and affection for the Quran.”
He went on to say that thanks to this interpretation, the society has become more familiar with Quranic truths than before.
Tafsir Tasnim, authored by Ayatollah Javadi Amoli, spans 80 volumes and is the result of over four decades of scholarly effort.
The work follows the “Quran by Quran” exegesis method, analyzing selected verses in four stages: a summary of the interpretation, a detailed exegesis, insights and subtleties, and a hadith-based discussion.
