Hawzah News Agency- the chairman of the Pakistan Muslim Unity Assembly Senator Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari has said,” Following the shooting at the Deputy Commissioner in Bagan area, the fact that the relief convoy for Parachinar has not moved even on the second day is worrying.”

He further raised the question that following the success of the peace jirga, why are the provincial authorities, who uphold claims that the roads would be opened within an hour, now silent? The besieged people of Parachinar have been facing severe problems for the past three months due to shortage of food and other basic necessities of life. The entire community, including women, children and the elderly, are in a very difficult situation.

Hujjat al-Islam Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari also asked why are the patriotic people of Kurram and Parachinar regions subjected to this punishment? This dire situation has also jeopardized national honor and dignity. The world is watching as the government seems incapable of securing a road from terrorists. Therefore, every minute is crucial to prevent a major humanitarian crisis in the region and relief convoys should be sent to Parachinar immediately.

The Pakistan Muslim Unity Assembly chairman stressed that the provincial government should immediately take necessary practical steps to provide relief to the people through timely delivery of food items. To control the situation, it is necessary to immediately implement the agreement signed by the Shia and Sunni elders and take effective and decisive action against the few evil elements who violate the agreement.
