Although tensions in Parachinar date back several decades, dozens of people, including women and children, lost their lives in the latest terrorist attack in Parachinar. This attack, which was carried out on civilian passengers of several buses and cars traveling from Parachinar to Peshawar, was severely criticized and condemned by political and religious figures and different sects.
Tensions in the region have increased since the incident, leading to sectarian clashes between local tribes.
People, both Shiites and Sunnis, held demonstrations in various Pakistani cities, including Islamabad, against the crimes, demanding a decisive response from the government and the army. They chanted slogans against extremist forces and demanded greater security for the residents of Parachinar.
Scholars of various religions in Pakistan, Iran, Iraq and some other countries called on the Pakistani government to ensure security in the region.
