Hawzah News Agency- Sunni scholar Mamousta Abdurrahman Khodayi in an interview with Hawzah News correspondent in Kurdistan province condemned the cowardly assassination of Hamas Chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, adding that the unfortunate news of this assassination caused a lot of grief and sadness among the Islamic countries, especially among the people of Gaza and Palestine.
In another part of his speech, the Friday imam of Baneh city pointed out that Ismail Haniyeh was one of the most important fighters against Zionism and terrorists in the region, adding,” The Zionist regime martyred many members of Ismail Haniyeh's family in recent months, and finally, this morning, he himself was martyred in a malicious operation.
“The Zionists and the enemies of Islam should beware that such inhumane act will never go unanswered, since the action taken by the Zionists in the assassination of Martyr Ismail Haniyeh called into question the humanity and honor.” He added.
The Friday imam of Bane city further emphasized that the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh will never affect the morale of the resistance axis, and noted that the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh by the criminal Zionists will become a basis for strengthening the spirit of jihad and resistance against the Zionist criminals, adding,” the final victory will undoubtedly prevail. The nation of Palestine and the Islamic world will stand strong, and this Zionist regime must disappear from the face of the Earth.”
It should be noted that Ismail Haniyeh, the political bureau chief of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, and one of his bodyguards were killed in their residence in the Iranian capital early on Wednesday.
They were killed after their residence was hit, the public relations office of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said in a statement.
The reasons behind the attack are under investigation and the details will be released later, the statement read.
Haniyeh was in Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of the new Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday (July 30).
