International dimension for all seminary activities
The deputy highlighted that one of the key initiatives involves preparing an international dimension for all activities of the Islamic seminaries, including deputy offices, specialized centers, and provinces. He noted that numerous programs are currently underway across the seminaries—ranging from festivals to research, scientific, and educational programs—all of which can incorporate an international component.
He stressed that the internationalization of all activities and pillars of the seminaries, including educational and research activities in schools, specialized centers, and provinces, is being actively pursued.
Diversifying international propagation
Hojatoleslam Hosseini Kouhsari identified diversification of international propagation as another transformative focus, stating that the use of modern virtual propagation capacities in the international arena has been placed on the agenda.
Referring to developments in communications and the capacities of cyberspace, he said efforts are underway to diversify methods of international propagation and utilize virtual international preaching to enable more effective engagement with audiences in various countries.
Extensive use of modern technologies and artificial intelligence
The deputy further noted that the extensive utilization of modern technologies and artificial intelligence constitutes another pillar of the transformative plans. He said the use of modern technologies and AI in international interactions, the production of scholarly and research works, and the translation and dissemination of scientific, cultural, and religious content from the seminaries has been placed on the agenda.
He added that the broad application of artificial intelligence in educational, research, and propagation fields can create new capacities for the international activities of the Islamic seminaries.
Expanding Qom-Najaf cooperation
Hojatoleslam Hosseini Kouhsari also pointed to the development of cooperation between the seminaries of Qom and Najaf as another transformative priority. He said the expansion of scientific and cultural exchanges with Shia and Sunni seminaries on the international stage is being pursued.
He added that broadening academic and interfaith relations with reputable scientific and religious institutions is also on the agenda and is being followed as one of the transformative plans.
Establishment of an international think tank
The deputy announced plans to establish an international think tank for monitoring, analyzing, and conducting strategic studies in the international arena.
He stated that monitoring changes and developments on the global stage and conducting strategic studies in this regard are among the programs that will be pursued within the framework of the transformative initiatives.
Expanding short-term courses for international enthusiasts
Hojatoleslam Hosseini Kouhsari also announced the expansion of short-term courses introducing Islamic sciences for international enthusiasts. He said individuals abroad, including professors and elites, are interested in becoming acquainted with Islamic and seminary sciences.
He explained that through short-term courses, the presence of foreign professors and elites inside the country will be facilitated, enabling them to participate in the scientific and educational programs of the Islamic seminaries.
Training specialized personnel and scholars for the international arena
The deputy underscored the necessity of training specialized personnel for engagement in the international arena, saying efforts are being made to familiarize an elite stratum as well as a layer of seminary professors and specialists with the international sphere and foreign languages.
He said the aim is to train a specialized, expert, and elite stratum so that the seminaries can have a more effective presence and engagement in academic events.
Hojatoleslam Hosseini Kouhsari added that the training of specialized personnel and scholars—from high-level professors and jurists to Quranic commentators—constitutes another transformative focus of the center.
Launching an international religious services platform
The deputy identified the launch of an international religious services platform as another transformative program, stating that the initiative has been placed on the agenda to expand the provision of religious services internationally.
Forming joint international specialized associations
Hojatoleslam Hosseini Kouhsari also announced plans to establish joint international specialized associations with the participation of Iranian and non-Iranian professors and experts across various scientific and Islamic fields.
He concluded by stressing that the entire set of measures is being pursued within the framework of the transformative plans of the Deputy for International Affairs of the Islamic Seminaries.
