Simultaneously with the KLIBF international book fair in Malaysia, the Islamic Republic of Iran has participated in the book ambassadors’ section in the field of "Asian publishing rights".

Hawzah News Agency- citing the public relations of the Islamic Republic of Iran's cultural consultant in Malaysia, Habib Reza Arzani, the cultural consultant of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Malaysia, expressed his condolences on the martyrdom of President Hujjat al-Islam Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi and his accompanying delegation in the helicopter crash, saying, "Definitely, dear nation of our country will never forget the memory of this true servant of Iran.”

Referring to the holding of the 24th International Book Fair of Malaysia, he said,” The Islamic Republic of Iran has participated in this exhibition after several years, and fortunately, we have seen an unforeseen welcome from the participants.”

Arzani stated that this year with the special assistance of the Organization of Islamic Culture and Communication and the follow-up of the cultural consultation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Malaysia; Iran has participated in two sections of the exhibition, and added,” We are present in the book sales and supply section in cooperation with the World Assembly of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and also in the special section of book ambassadors in cooperation with Al-Hadi Publications.”

The Cultural Advisor of the Islamic Republic in Malaysia further noted that more than eight countries have participated in the book ambassadors’ section on Asian copyrights, and said,” Mr. Mahmoud Vaezi, the representative of Al-Hadi Publications and the head of the Faculty of Theology at University of Tehran, has been invited to attend the book ambassadors’ section in the field of publishing rights.

Arzani considered this exhibition to be an important annual event in the global publishing calendar and said,” Every year, the Ministry of Education of Malaysia, through the National Book Council of this country (NBCM), organizes the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (KLIBF) in cooperation with six Malaysian book industry associations. “

The Cultural Advisor of the Islamic Republic in Malaysia went on to say that in this exhibition, various books from 17 countries with different subjects and languages have been presented and based on the determined strategies; The effort is to attract as many book readers as possible, so that all book lovers and bibliographers can visit the exhibition.

“The presence of a large group of domestic and international publishers and meeting with authors and personalities of the publishing industry can play a significant role in promoting books and book culture.” He noted.

He continued,” This exhibition is scheduled to be officially opened with the presence of the Minister of Higher Education of Malaysia, and Mr. Anwar Ibrahim, the Prime Minister of this country, will also visit various parts of the exhibition on May 26, 2024.”

It should be noted that the International Book Fair of Malaysia will be held from May 24 to June 2, 2024 at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Center (WTCKL) with the participation of more than 17 countries, including China, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, Iran, South Korea, Taiwan, India, Singapore and Brunei.
