Hawzah News Agency- Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, the Head of Iran’s Seminary, severely slammed the Australian ambassador's brazen and contrary action to religious principles and human nature in defending homosexuality and disrespecting the country's Islamic and domestic laws.

Ayatollah Arafi called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take appropriate and decisive action in accordance with legal and Islamic standards against this unconventional, unethical, and illegal behavior.

The statement by the Head of Iran’s Seminary reads as follows:

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Given the Australian ambassador's action in Tehran, which completely and clearly contradicts religious principles, human nature, ethical standards, and the culture and history of dear Islamic Iran, as well as the brazen affront to the host country's established norms, the seminaries strongly condemn his unconventional, unethical, and illegal behavior in defending homosexuality and disrespecting Islamic and domestic laws and urgently call on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to respond appropriately and decisively in accordance with legal and Islamic standards.

It is to be noted the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday that it has summoned Ian McConville and expressed Iran’s strong objection to the derogatory content posted on the embassy’s official Instagram page a day earlier.

The Australian Embassy in Tehran had published a post on its official Instagram page which promoted homosexuality.
