Mamusta Kalashi Nezhad condemned the “Wear it Purple” celebration held by the Australian ambassador in Tehran, calling it a violation of the rights and values of the Iranian people.

Hawzah News Agency- In an interview with the Hawzah News Agency in Urmia, referring to holding the Wear it Purple celebration by the Australian Ambassador in Tehran, Mamusta Kalashi Nezhad criticized it as a “disgraceful” and “immoral” act, which offended the feelings of Muslim Iranians, urging the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take immediate and firm diplomatic action against the Australian ambassador in Tehran.

Calling for decisive and diplomatic action by the country's officials, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, against the Australian Ambassador in Tehran, he stated that since our moral foundations are rooted in religion, spirituality, and theism, the vile action of "Wear it Purple" is far removed from our religious teachings and must be addressed appropriately.

The Sunni Imam of Urmia Friday prayer noted that homosexuality is condemned by all divine religions and is considered abhorrent, adding that this vile act will incur divine punishment by the Almighty God, and previous nations have also faced the wrath of God for such a transgression.

He called holding the celebration of Wear it Purple a violation of the rights and values of the Iranian people, stating such an act that took place in an Islamic country is immoral and must be condemned, and those responsible for that should be met with a swift and decisive diplomatic response.

“Such behaviors reflect a decline in ethics and spirituality in Western countries,” Mamusta Kalashi Nezhad said, explaining that today, in Western countries that claim to uphold freedom, both ethics and spirituality have fallen, and we must not allow such a celebration to be held so easily in an Islamic country that considers homosexuality a forbidden (Haram) act.

The Sunni Friday Imam of Urmia emphasized that to prevent further erosion of human dignity in the country and to avoid witnessing such disgraceful behaviors again, there must be decisive diplomatic action to be taken against the Australian ambassador in Tehran, or the Australian Embassy in Iran shall be closed.

This, he stated, will deter any country from daring to commit such an act in our country.
