In this meeting, Hujjat al -Islam Nawab, while expressing his happiness to attend the Pontifical University of Urbania, pointed out the important role of religions in modern world and stated,” It is very important that religions should converge with one other. In today's world, religions are present everywhere and followers of different religions live in different cities and regions of the world. The convergence of religions at the social level will definitely reduce the sufferings and injuries of religious believers because such convergence at the level of people's lives can lead to a peaceful coexistence in societies.”
The chancellor of the Iranian University of Religions and Denominations further explained,” academic communication based on teaching and research can be a very important factor in removing ignorance about different religions. At the University of Religions and Denominations, we have tried to teach all religions to eliminate ignorance about different faiths. This education is definitely not solely for religious or promotional purposes, rather it has a scientific basis and we try to use people who believe in different religions to teach their own religious teachings.”
Professor Leonardo Sileo, Dean of Urbania University in Rome, welcomed the Management Board of Religions and Denominations University and said,” As you explained, it is very important to establish scientific convergence between religions and this convergence should be through academic relations. We also believe in the same and are ready to conclude a memorandum of understanding for the implementation of such scientific cooperation with the University of Religions and Denominations.”
