Iran's Cultural Envoy in Indonesia: Unity Is Why Iran Stands Firm Against Foreign Pressure

JAKARTA – A grand celebration marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was held in Greater Jakarta, with speakers emphasizing prophetic ethics, knowledge, Islamic community empowerment, and Muslim unity as the most important lessons from the Prophet's life for today's world.

Hawzah News Agency- The event, held under the slogan "Following the Ethics of the Messenger of God (PBUH); Building a Blessed and Beneficial Character for Society," drew more than 1,000 believers and admirers of the Prophet. It took place on Saturday evening, September 12, 2026, at the Bayt al-Ma'mur Teaching Assembly in the Jatibening Baru area of Bekasi, Greater Jakarta.

Indonesian Religious Ministry Adviser Stresses Science as Source of Power

Haji Gugun Gumilar, a member of the office and special advisers to Indonesia's minister of religious affairs, highlighted the place of knowledge in the Prophet's teachings.

"One of the most important lessons Muslims must learn from the prophetic tradition is devotion to knowledge, education, and scientific empowerment," he said.

Noting the role of science and technology in empowering nations, he added: "Today we can see that countries like Iran and Yemen have managed to stand up to arrogant powers by relying on their scientific and technological capacities."

The Indonesian official described the Prophet as a comprehensive model for Islamic society, saying one key dimension of following him today is acquiring knowledge and turning it into a driver of power, independence, and progress for Muslim communities.

Iran's Cultural Attaché: Media Image of Iran Far from Reality

Dr. Yahya Jahangiri, Iran's cultural attaché in Indonesia and the event's guest of honor, spoke about the Prophet's standing in the Holy Quran and in Muslim life.

Citing the verse "Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who believe, send blessings upon him and greet him with a worthy greeting," he stressed the importance of sending blessings upon the Prophet as a manifestation of Muslims' spiritual bond with the Messenger of Mercy.

Jahangiri emphasized the need for unity and cohesion among the Islamic ummah, saying the image of Iranian society sometimes portrayed by certain international media is far removed from Iran's objective and social realities.

He said a true understanding of Iran can be gained through direct accounts from journalists, bloggers, media activists, and travelers who have visited the country and published their observations firsthand on social media.

'Unity Is a Key Factor in Standing Firm'

Iran's cultural attaché noted that Islamic unity and national cohesion are among the key factors behind Iranian society's strength and its ability to withstand foreign threats and pressure, stressing unity as a principle repeatedly emphasized by the leaders and officials of the Islamic Republic.

Celebration Features Quran Recitation, Poetry in Praise of the Prophet

The Mawlid al-Nabi celebration in Jakarta featured a range of programs, including Quran recitation, dhikr and Salavat, religious songs, and poetry in praise of the Prophet, creating a special spiritual atmosphere.

The broad attendance of more than 1,000 believers, families, and admirers of the Messenger of God reflected the love of Indonesia's Muslim community for the Prophet and its commitment to keeping alive his culture and ethics.
