Hujjat al-Islam Shahriari stated,” insulting sanctities of Islam is an attack on the freedom of speech and discourse between religions and all humanity.”

Hawzah News Agency- the online meeting "Hateful crime against the Holy Quran in Sweden" was held under the initiative of the Religious Affairs Organization of Turkey and with the presence of a group of Muslim scholars from the Islamic world.

Hujjat al-Islam Hamid Shahriari, the Secretary General of The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, stated in this meeting that the cultural invasion against the Islamic world started from the time of the attack on the Muslim countries and is still continuing. It is disrespectful to holy things and insulting Islamic beliefs.

Referring to the repeated insults to Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Zionists in The Occupied Palestine or the attacks on mosques and places of worship by Western extremists and racists, he said,” Today, this phenomenon has taken a new form such as burning the Holy Quran with the approval of European official centers.”

The Secretary General of The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought continued, referring to the efforts of the Zionist lobbies in the world to present a distorted image of Islam in the West and America in order to spread Islamophobia in these countries, and said,” Insulting the sacred things of Islam is a crime that has nothing to do with human conscience and human rights laws. It contradicts the simplest principles of peaceful coexistence among humans.”

The Shia cleric denied any connection between this heinous act and freedom of speech and added,” This insult is an attack on the freedom of speech and dialogue between religions as well as all humanity.”

“The Association of Islamic Religions condemns any kind of violence and division among the followers of religions and by condemning this racist phenomenon, it demands an end to these rare and hostile actions.” He concluded.
