Hawzah News Agency- Al-Mustafa International University's statement of condemnation regarding the production and screening the derogatory film “The Holy Spider", is as follows:
In the Name of God, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
يُرِيدُونَ لِيُطْفِئُوا نُورَ اللَّهِ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَاللَّهُ مُتِمُّ نُورِهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْكَافِرُونَ
God, the Almighty, the Wise, said: “They desire to put out the light of God with their mouths, but God will perfect His light though the faithless should be averse”
[The Holy Qurʾān 61:8]
The resplendent shrine of Imām al-Ra’ūf, ʿAlī ibn Mūsā al-Riḍā (ʿa), has long been a meeting place for the lovers of the Impeccable and Purified Family and the safe sanctuary of millions of pilgrims from various denominations of Islam and even other religions who are enamoured by the “Imām of Kindness.”
Insulting the holy shrine of the Eighth Imām by screening the derogatory film “The Holy Spider,” represents the culmination of the humiliation and irrational hatred of those who insulted the beliefs and values of millions of Muslims and contaminated their unclean hands with yet another crime by exploiting the crime committed due to the deviant thinking of some ignorant people and regarding which the perpetrator was also punished for his actions.
Behind the scenes of this flagrant insult, one can clearly see the hands of the hostile policies of Zionism, which seeks to undermine Islamic sanctities from their lofty position in the eyes of the people, especially the younger generation, and to weaken their religious beliefs.
al-Mustafa International University condemns the production and screening of this anti-Islamic and anti-Iranian film, which desperately tries to present an intolerant and inhumane image of Iranian society by insulting religious sanctities and calls on the relevant authorities to deal decisively and instructively with the perpetrators of this evil act.
