Hawzah News Agency –The al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine launched the activities of the eighth edition of the Imam al-Baqer Conference (peace be upon him), under the slogan: (Imam al-Baqer - peace be upon him - the shining full moon and the comprehensive science).
The conference hosted its activities in Al-Qasem Hall (peace be upon him) at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, in the presence of its Deputy Secretary-General, Engineer Abbas Musa, and the director of the office of its Senior Official, in addition to a number of researchers from the Hawza and academic circles from inside and outside Iraq, as well as electronic participation and follow-up through the platform (Zoom) program.
The activities began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, by the reader, Sayed Haydar Gelokhan al-Mousawi, followed by the recitation of Surat Al-Fatihah in memory for the righteous martyrs of Iraq.
This was followed by the speech of the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, delivered by the Acting Head of the Religious Affairs Department, Sheikh Salah al-Karbala'i, beginning by offering congratulations on the advent of the holy month of Rajab and the blessed births, explaining that "Imam al-Baqer (peace be upon him) made sacrifices in order to convey the message of the Islamic religion. Throughout his life in Madina, he poured his knowledge onto the Muslim nation, and looked after its affairs, which the Messenger of God (may God bless him and his family) had sown, and raised by Imam Ali and then Imams al-Hassan and al-Hussayn (peace be upon them), as nourished by his father Ali son of al-Hussayn (peace be upon them). He provided it with all the elements of its integrity and the reasons for its rationality and loftyness."
He added that "Imam al-Baqer (peace be upon him) led a wide scientific renaissance that the Islamic nation has never witnessed, and he established a scientific school with sanctity and knowledge, and among those notes is the Ashura special Ziyarat of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and its impact and great reward. Therefore, we must seek to know more on Imam al-Baqer (peace be upon him) and all the imams of the Ahl al-Bayt (may God’s peace be upon them), and adhere to their approach and follow it.”
Sheikh al-Karbala'i also touched on the importance of this blessed month, which is the sacred month of Rajab, which is a month of mercy and forgiveness, in which there are countless blessings and goodness."
After that, the research sessions were opened, which was moderated by Prof. Ali al-Maslawi, and the inaugural research was entitled: (The Role of Imam al-Baqer - peace be upon him - in addressing the ideology of exaggeration), by the researcher Prof. Dr. Ali Khayat, President of Razavi University in the Republic of Iran.
