Hawzah News Agency –Majid Tahourian-Askari, a member of Islamic Council of the holy city of Mashhad, during a meeting with the head of the Islamic Culture and Relation Organization in Khorasan Razavi Province, said in addition to the shrine of Imam Reza (AS), the town of Toos and Ferdowsi’s Mausoleum have the potential to convey the message of the Islamic Republic.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, Ali Bakhtiari, the Representative ICRO in Khorasan Razavi met and held talks with Majid Tahourian-Askari, Member of the Commission on Culture, Pilgrimage and Tourism of the City Council, at ICRO"s headquarters in Mashhad.
Tahourian-Askari stated that the purpose of this meeting was to use the international potentials of the ICRO for introducing Ferdowsi globally and added cultural, historical and heritage issues should be taken into consideration adding that priority of what the municipality should consider for Toos, the burial place of Ferdowsi, is the cultural issue.
He added, the City Council will pay special attention to historical and cultural issues with a global perspective. We believe that in addition to the holy Shrine of Imam Reza (AS) Toos and the tomb of Ferdowsi also have the capacity for globalization to convey the message of the Islamic Republic.
Bakhtiari, for his part, praised the view and approach of the city council and the mayor of Mashhad to the most cultural city in the country.
He said all cultural activities in Mashhad should be international in nature due to its international nature and the presence of a large number of foreign pilgrims and tourists in different seasons.
Referring to the good work that has been done on Ferdowsi studies, the representative of ICRO in Mashhad said Ferdowsi can be a link with other countries, especially in Central Asia and the subcontinent, and Mashhad can play a role as a cultural base in neighboring countries.
Bakhtiari announced his readiness to hold specialized meetings on the development and globalization of the city of Toos and the Mausoleum of Ferdowsi.
