UK Mosque leader injured by brick hurled through house window

Akooji Badat suffered bruising to his arm after the brick came crashing through a window at his home on Norfolk Street, Batley.

Hawzah News Agency - (Batley - UK) - A mosque leader was injured when a brick was hurled through his lounge window.

Akooji Badat suffered bruising to his arm after the brick came crashing through a window at his home on Norfolk Street, Batley.

Mr Badat, chairman of the nearby Snowdon Street mosque, said the incident happened at around 1.30am on Tuesday morning.

He said the noise of the window shattering was 'like a bomb'.

At first he didn't realise he had been struck but then noticed the injury after attempting to pursue the man who had thrown the brick.

Mr Badat, who works as a taxi driver, said the brick had narrowly missed his wife who was snoozing beside him.

"It was lucky it didn't hit my wife or hit me in the face which would have been potentially life-threatening."
