Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – Speaking at the convention for awarding the Islamic seminaries book of the year which was held in the Iranian city of Qom on Thursday, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, Head of the Iranian seminaries said, “We’re gathered here to celebrate the 18th round of the seminaries’ book of the year convention in Qom; I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the organizers of the event for holding such systematic and disciplined conferences.”
Ayatollah Arafi added, “ This year, the secretariat of the convention has received over 900 seminary works, out of which 837 are book publications and the other 137 are clerics’ M.A theses.”
“The Islamic seminaries enjoy a bright and long history in producing and studying different sciences; the history of seminaries is filled with golden leaves of science production.”
Member of the Islamic seminaries’ supreme council went on, “During the past decades, we’ve been witnessing great progress in different areas of science and research in Islamic seminaries, but we are also experiencing some shortcomings which need to be addressed in the future.”
“Certainly, the Islamic seminaries are enjoying a lively atmosphere in scientific and research areas; many intellectuals are being trained under great religious scholars and that in turn results in the production of religious sciences; the number of papers and books published in Qom indicates the increasing production of religious content,” Ayatollah Arafi concluded.
