Hawzah News Agency- The meeting emphasized the importance of dialogue and regular engagement among religious leaders in promoting peaceful coexistence and strengthening social cohesion. Patriarch Mar Paul III Nona expressed appreciation for the role of Iraq’s religious authorities in supporting coexistence and social harmony.
Sayyid Riyadh Al-Hakim stressed that political disputes should not be allowed to undermine social cohesion. He called for joint efforts by religious leaders to strengthen spiritual and moral values and to reject incitement, extremism and violence.
He also addressed the growing phenomenon of Islamophobia in the West, calling on religious leaders, particularly the Pope, to play a greater role in confronting anti-Muslim prejudice and promoting mutual understanding and respect among communities.
