Hawzah News Agency- the Al-Ahed news outlet reported that as the date for the funeral ceremony of Iran’s “martyr leader” in Iraq approaches, specifically next Wednesday, necessary measures are being intensified to hold the event with utmost grandeur. Extensive enthusiasm is evident among various social groups and segments of Iraqi society for active participation in this ceremony, with projections indicating that over five million people will attend the funeral procession in the cities of Najaf and Karbala.
To ensure all necessary steps are taken, Iraq has formed a high-level committee comprising representatives from various entities, including the Prime Ministry’s office, the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), the administrations of Najaf and Karbala provinces, the holy shrines’ directorates, and the Ministries of Interior and Transportation, along with other governmental bodies.
Meanwhile, officials in several Iraqi provinces, including Dhi Qar, Karbala, Najaf, Basra, and Baghdad, have decided to declare next Wednesday a public holiday to allow citizens to participate in the funeral procession. This decision comes amid calls from parliamentary circles and social groups urging the Iraqi government to make Wednesday a national holiday.
Furthermore, various Iraqi tribes and clans have declared their readiness to actively participate in the funeral ceremony for Iran’s “martyr leader.” Dozens of “Mawkibs” (processional stations) and Husseiniyahs (religious halls) have also commenced necessary arrangements to provide services, including food, beverages, and resting areas, for the attendees of the funeral procession.
