Hawzah News Agency- The event brought together diplomats, cultural and religious figures, political officials, and heads of institutions from several Islamic countries to examine the enduring relevance of the Prophet’s message in today’s turbulent world.
Alongside the main conference, an art exhibition focusing on the life and legacy of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was held, highlighting the vital role of prophetic values in Islamic art, heritage, and cultural expression.
OIC Official Highlights Enduring Strength of Prophetic Legacy
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ahmed Jalou, Director of the Permanent Committee for Information and Cultural Affairs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), emphasized the global significance of the occasion.
“More than 1,500 years after the birth of the great Prophet of Islam, his legacy remains solid and unshakable,” he said. “It stands as a lasting monument for future generations.”
Jalou added that the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) laid the foundations for “one of the most magnificent human civilizations,” noting that Muslims across the world continue to place prophetic guidance—rooted in faith and revelation—at the center of their lives.
Closing Ceremony Features International Participation
The closing session included a video message from Tariq Ali Bakhit, Deputy Secretary-General and Ambassador of the OIC. Senior diplomats—including the ambassadors of Iran, Sudan, and Saudi Arabia—as well as a representative of Senegal’s Foreign Minister and a lecturer of Islamic sciences, also addressed the audience. Their remarks focused on the Prophet’s universal message of justice, mercy, and human dignity, and its relevance in confronting the current global challenges.
The event in Dakar was widely regarded by participants as a meaningful contribution to ongoing efforts to promote unity, intellectual engagement, and a deeper understanding of the prophetic model in the modern world.
