US Wedding Strike in Sirik a War Crime: Top Iranian Cleric

In a strongly worded statement, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, director of Iran’s Islamic seminaries, has condemned the early morning US airstrike on a residential area and wedding ceremony in the town of Sirik in Hormozgan Province, calling it a clear instance of “state terrorism” and a war crime.

Hawzah News Agency- The senior cleric said the attack, which killed and wounded innocent civilians including women and children, once again exposed the “vicious face” of the United States and the global arrogance.

Ayatollah Arafi described the strike as part of a continuing pattern of American aggression against the Iranian people, citing previous attacks including the bombing of the Shajareh Tayyiba school in Minab, which killed dozens of students, as well as strikes on a stadium in Lamerd, hospitals and other civilian sites.

“The shameful silence of the false claimants of human rights and international organizations in the face of these atrocities raises serious questions,” the statement read.

Ayatollah Arafi stressed that the Iranian nation, the Axis of Resistance, and all military and civilian institutions will stand firm against aggression targeting Islam, Iran, and the Muslim Ummah.

“By the grace of Almighty God and under the guidance of Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance), Iran will open a new chapter of resistance against global hegemony, shaping a new civilizational phase in regional and international equations,” he said.

The director of Iran’s seminaries expressed condolences to the families of the martyrs and wished swift recovery for the wounded. He called on Iran’s armed forces, under the command of the Commander-in-Chief, to continue delivering a “regrettable response” to the enemy until full deterrence is achieved.

“Victory comes only from God, the Almighty, the All-Wise,” the statement concluded.
