Speaking to Hawzah News Agency on the sidelines of the commemorative conference in Najaf, Hojatoleslam Mirzaei highlighted the Khorasan Seminary's venerable legacy as one of the Shiite world's oldest institutions, which has consistently produced luminaries for the broader Islamic ummah. "The late Mirza Naeini stands among a select cadre of unparalleled masters in usul al-fiqh, philosophy, irfan, and political jurisprudence," he noted, lauding Naeini as the "Renewer of Principles."
Hojatoleslam Mirzaei praised Naeini's seminal work, Tanziyyah al-Ummah, for offering a "precise and illuminating blueprint of Islamic governance," which inspired the convening of this global congress to more thoroughly illuminate the jurist's profound contributions.
Imperative of Inter-Seminary Collaboration
The seminary director underscored the vital necessity of robust ties among Najaf Ashraf, Khorasan, and Qom seminaries, describing such engagements as indispensable. "These interactions are not merely beneficial but essential," he emphasized. "Scientific congresses dedicated to our eminent ulama serve dual purposes: elevating their global recognition and instilling a strong sense of identity among emerging seminary students."
He portrayed these scholarly legacies as "invaluable assets" bequeathed by the seminary to the Islamic world across epochs, adding, "Their proper dissemination will elevate the seminary's scholarly prestige on the international stage."
Triumphant Closing in Mashhad Draws Global Ulama
Hojatoleslam Mirzaei announced that, following the congress's inauguration in Qom, its culmination was aptly hosted in Iran at the Khorasan Seminary in Mashhad. "The event unfolded splendidly, culminating in a highly productive assembly attended by distinguished scholars and a vast assembly of ulama from diverse nations—particularly from Iraq, including Najaf Ashraf and Karbala," he detailed.
Hosting the finale in Mashhad, he explained, afforded a "priceless platform" to elucidate Naeini's intellectual eminence and further solidify fraternal bonds between the seminaries of Iran and Iraq.
The congress, a beacon of scholarly synergy, reaffirms the enduring role of such initiatives in nurturing the next wave of Shiite thought leaders and bridging historic centers of Islamic learning.
