Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at a meeting with members of Jamaat-e-Islami India, Hakimollahi underlined that internal strength and self-development are essential in confronting challenges. “The enemy does not always attack from outside,” he said. “There are many weaknesses within us that cannot be overcome without progress and unity.”
Referring to the historical experiences of the Muslim world, he noted that despite foreign oppression and exploitation, internal shortcomings have long hindered unity. “After World War II, when Muslims were absent from the international scene, world powers attempted to divide Islamic lands. Had we been present and united, such divisions would never have been imposed,” he added.
Hakimollahi called on Muslims and all citizens to be conscious of their rights and duties and to actively contribute to preserving national security. Describing security and tranquility as among the greatest blessings, he reminded that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) emphasized their value.
“Every individual has a responsibility to help protect security and prevent malicious elements from creating instability,” he said. He further stressed the need to promote love, respect, peaceful coexistence, social support, and assistance to vulnerable groups as religious and moral obligations.
Highlighting the role of intellectual and educational programs in strengthening the unity of the Ummah, he urged that such engagements be held regularly to guide younger generations.
Pointing to the Qur’anic concept of Amanah (trust), Hakimollahi said humanity carries a profound responsibility. “The mission of the Ummah extends beyond the present era. Eight billion people are waiting for this message, and it is our duty to convey it.”
During the meeting, Dr. Salim Khan, Vice President of Jamaat-e-Islami Maharashtra, recalled the movement’s long-standing connection with the Islamic Revolution. He noted that in the early years after the Revolution, a major event in Hyderabad had expected the presence of Imam Khomeini (RA), who instead sent Ayatollah Khamenei as his representative—an appearance that received an enthusiastic welcome.
Zafar Ansari, Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami India, also shared personal recollections from his youth, emphasizing the influence of Allama Maududi in shaping his thinking and noting that Imam Khomeini (RA) translated Maududi’s ideas into a powerful and practical model that continues to inspire the Muslim community today.
