Hawzah News Agency- Dr. Ruhollah Rouhani, a university professor, said in an interview with AVA that "the majority of people in Arab and Islamic countries have described the Israeli regime's attacks on Gaza with terms such as genocide or ethnic cleansing, which shows social pressure and public opinion beyond the level of governments''.
Mr. Rouhani described the legal and diplomatic condemnation as another sign of the Zionist regime’s isolation worldwide, saying, “International institutions, including the International Court of Justice, have examined the actions of the Israeli regime and have considered some actions to be violations of international law or even international crimes''.
“Greater Israel” has now become a dream for the Zionist regime.
On the other hand, Mr. Rouhani stated that the increase in global solidarity with Palestine has tarnished Israel’s image, adding: “After the Gaza crisis intensified, a broad wave of solidarity with the Palestinians was seen in the world. Large rallies in support of Palestine were held in the United States, Europe, and many other places. Now, polls in European and Western countries show a decline in public support for Israel’s policies''.
In his speech, Mr. Rouhani also referred to the global reactions to the 12-Day War and said: “During the 12-Day War between Iran and Israel, many countries expressed their concern about Israel’s attack on Iran. Most governments adopted a moderate approach and prevented any escalation of the conflict, but almost no country declared firm support for the Israeli regime’s military action''.
Abbas Ershad, an expert on international relations, also said in an interview with Ava that "after the wave of violence in Gaza (from October 7, 2023 onwards) and especially after widespread reports of casualties and humanitarian crisis, international opposition and criticism of the Israeli regime's military policies increased; The UN Secretary-General, human rights institutions, Islamic countries, and a number of Western countries and international institutions warned about human rights violations and the possibility of international crimes, and this led to the isolation of Tel Aviv in public opinion and among a significant part of societies and governments''.
Mr. Ershad also referred to Afghanistan's supporting role in the 12-day war and said: "The government based in Kabul adopted a position of support for Iran and declarations and condemnations were issued regarding the attacks of the Israeli regime''.
