Hawzah News Agency- Speaking during a meeting with the governor of Qom, Hassan al-Abadi said the United States fears the resistance’s impact on the upcoming Iraqi elections and is attempting to curb its influence through political and economic pressure.
Al-Abadi explained that the Brigades’ office in Iran carries out cultural and academic missions, including promoting the discourse of the resistance, introducing the achievements of the resistance front in academic and seminary circles, participating in cultural exhibitions, and organizing events to honor resistance martyrs.
He stressed that supporting the Islamic Republic of Iran is a matter of faith, adding that “the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, is the true leader of the resistance movement, and the association of our forces with his leadership is a source of pride.”
He reiterated that the main reason behind Washington’s sanctions against the Brigades is their growing social influence and their ability to mobilize the Iraqi public in support of the resistance axis.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the governor of Qom praised the long-standing cultural and spiritual ties between the Iranian and Iraqi nations, saying Qom takes pride in hosting thousands of foreign students and scholars and will continue to strengthen cooperation with Iraqi institutions.
