Hawzah News Agency- Shaykh al-Saduq narrated from his father, from Sa’ed ibn Abdullah, from Muhammad ibn al-Hussein ibn Abil-Khat’tab, from Ja’far ibn Bashir al-Bajaly, from Davood al-Raqqy that Imam Sadiq (pbuh) said:
إن القصد أمر يحبه الله عز وجل، وإن السرف [أمر] يبغضه [الله عز وجل] حتى طرحك النواة فإنها تصلح لشئ وحتى صبك فضل شرابك
Moderation is something loved by Allah, the Almighty, and extravagance is something He hates; even to the extent of throwing away a date pit, for it can still be useful, or pouring out leftover drink.
