Hawzah News Agency- According to the statement, Washington has changed the designation of Al-Nujaba from “Specially Designated Global Terrorist” (SDGT), which entailed financial and economic restrictions, to “Foreign Terrorist Organization,” a label that carries wider security and criminal consequences.
By applying this new classification, the US government formally regards Al-Nujaba as an independent entity it deems a threat to its national security and the interests of its regional allies, including the Zionist regime.
The decision also paves the way for prosecuting individuals or institutions that, in any form, provide support to Al-Nujaba or other Iraqi resistance groups included under similar designations.
Observers note that the designation reflects the most severe level of restrictions Washington can impose within its sanctions framework against organizations it classifies as a “serious threat to global security.”
