Sayyed Ammar Hakim: International coalition forces to withdraw from Iraq by next month

Tehran– Head of the Iraqi National Wisdom Movement, Sayyed Ammar Hakim, announced that based on a recent agreement with the international coalition to fight ISIS, their forces will withdraw from Iraq by next month. He noted that only a limited number of coalition troops will remain in Erbil to support operations in Syria.

Hawzah News Agency- Speaking in a meeting with Ayatollah Sayyed Muhammad Saeedi at the Holy Shrine of Lady Masoumeh (PBUH), Hakim underlined that despite existing challenges, the position of Shiites in Iraq is steadily improving, with their active presence in political and social arenas.

He highlighted the massive annual religious gatherings, including Arbaeen with the participation of more than 20 million pilgrims, as symbols of Shiite strength and unity.

Hakim also pointed to Iraq’s demographic dynamics, stressing that 68 percent of Iraqis are under 24 years old and 90 percent under 50, adding that since the fall of Saddam, the population has doubled and is projected to reach 80 million within 25 years.
