Iranian President Calls for Islamic Unity to Resist Foreign Exploitation

Tehran – President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the need for practical unity among Islamic countries, warning that enemies seek to divide Muslims through arms sales and resource exploitation.

Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 39th International Islamic Unity Conference, held under the slogan “The Prophet of Mercy and the Islamic Ummah” to mark the 1,500th birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), Pezeshkian said: “We have no quarrel with any Muslim country, and we do not seek conflict. We are committed to the unity of the Islamic Ummah.”

The conference, attended by 80 prominent scholars, 210 guests, and 2,800 activists from the Islamic world, highlighted the Prophet’s role in uniting Muslims. Pezeshkian noted that upon entering Medina, the Prophet established brotherhood among Muslims, declaring that all believers are one family.

He added that disunity has led to division into 72 sects, and that if Muslims united in practice, global arrogance would no longer dominate them. “The enemies sell weapons to Islamic countries to fuel conflicts and plunder their resources. Their pursuit of human rights is selective, often ignoring the suffering of children and the sick,” he said.

Pezeshkian concluded by reaffirming Iran’s commitment to Islamic unity and cooperation with Muslim nations to confront divisive schemes.
