Unity; The cornerstone of the Islamic Ummah’s authority against conspiracies and divisiveness

On the eve of Islamic Unity Week and the days of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), several religious and political experts gathered at the weekly discourse of AVA in Herat to discuss and exchange views on the importance of Islamic unity and its role in the authority of the Muslim Ummah.

Hawzah News Agency- Akram Mohammadi, a seminary professor and religious scholar, referring to the status of Islamic Unity Week, said: “Unity Week is an opportunity to emphasize the commonalities between Islamic sects, reduce differences, neutralize the conspiracies of the enemies of Islam, and pave the way for dialogue between religions. This occasion can strengthen the identity of the Islamic Ummah''.

He added: “Since Imam Khomeini (RA) named Unity Week, a movement of solidarity has emerged in the Islamic community. However, in return, anti-Islamic movements have tried to prevent the unity of Muslims by creating division''.

He also noted: “Disagreements are mainly created by ignorant people. Religious scholars do not have disagreements, and even the jurisprudential books of the sects do not have fundamental differences. However, cultural weakness and extremism present a harsh face of Islam, such as what ISIS has displayed''.

He added: “Countries like Iran stand alone against the attacks of enemies, but if Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran and other Islamic countries unite, Islamic authority will be displayed on a global level''.

Kazemi also stated: “One of the effects of unity is deterrence against enemies whose goal is to suppress and threaten Islamic unity. Unity strengthens the dignity of Muslims against oppression, global arrogance and religious and ethnic wars''.

Finally, referring to the lives of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) and Imam Jafar Sadiq (AS), he said: “Imam Sadiq (AS) tried to spread the prophetic life and the school of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) at the height of political and social differences. The basis of his movement was unity. "The Prophet of Islam also emphasizes that a Muslim is a brother to another Muslim; he does not oppress him, does not abandon him, and does not humiliate him. We must support the Muslims of the world and promote Islamic unity every day''.
