Speaking in an interview with Hawzah News Agency, Delavari Parizi described Arbaeen as “a symbol of resistance against oppression and tyranny” and “a voice for justice and truth in today’s noisy, propaganda-filled world.”
Citing Islamic narrations, she noted that the Arbaeen pilgrimage is considered a sign of faith. “It is mentioned in Kamil al-Ziyarat by Ibn Qoluyah that the heavens, the earth, the sun, and the angels mourned Imam Hussein (AS) for forty days,” she said.
Delavari Parizi emphasized that the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) worked to preserve the memory of Karbala, as it reflects multiple aspects of Imam Hussein’s movement and brings lasting benefits to society.
She described Arbaeen as an “international conference for Shiites,” explaining that during the time of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), followers were scattered across the Levant, Ahvaz, Khorasan, and Iraq. “Just as Muslims gather in Mecca for Hajj to assess the condition of the global Muslim community, Shiites needed a set time and place to unite. Arbaeen provides that platform, centered on Karbala and the Ashura movement,” she said.
Delavari Parizi also highlighted the pivotal role of Hazrat Zainab (PBUH) in preserving the legacy of Ashura. “Through her journey in captivity to Kufa and the Levant, she courageously exposed the truth of Karbala, countering the Umayyad propaganda that sought to erase the name of Imam Ali (PBUH) and the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH). Her return to Karbala after captivity was a decisive act in keeping the uprising alive.”
She concluded by stressing that the struggle for justice sparked by the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) continues to inspire movements against oppression across history.
