22 Arrested in Qom for Alleged Links to Zionist Regime and Cyber Propaganda

According to the head of the Intelligence and Public Security Police of Qom province, the arrests are part of a broader security operation launched in response to the ongoing hostilities and crimes committed by the usurping Zionist regime.

Hawzah News Agency- QOM, Iran — Authorities in Qom have arrested 22 individuals suspected of having connections with the intelligence apparatus of the Zionist regime and engaging in activities aimed at disturbing public order, security officials confirmed on Friday.

According to the head of the Intelligence and Public Security Police of Qom province, the arrests are part of a broader security operation launched in response to the ongoing hostilities and crimes committed by the usurping Zionist regime.

"Since the onset of the recent aggressions, 22 suspects have been identified and apprehended for their suspected ties to the Zionist regime’s spy services and for spreading propaganda that supports the criminal regime," the official told Hawzah News Agency, citing information from the police news portal.

Among those detained, eight individuals were arrested specifically for cyber activities—spreading misinformation, disturbing public opinion, and promoting the aggressor regime’s narrative on social media platforms. Others were taken into custody for suspicious activities, including unauthorized travel and photography in sensitive locations across the province.

The official also conveyed a warning in line with a directive issued by the Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council:

"All individuals who have cooperated with or are in possession of materials linked to the Zionist regime must voluntarily surrender themselves and their equipment to the relevant security bodies by July 1st. Failure to do so will result in swift and severe action by Iran’s intelligence and law enforcement agencies."

The statement underscores the Islamic Republic’s firm stance on defending national security amid ongoing regional tensions.

Further developments are expected to follow.
