Hawzah News Agency- Ayatollah Seyyed Yassin Mousavi, the Friday prayer imam of Baghdad and a prominent professor at Najaf Ashraf Seminary elaborated on recent developments in the region in his political sermon and expressed concern about foreign interference in Iraq's internal affairs. He emphasized that attacking Shiite unity and the axis of resistance is a red line that cannot be crossed.
Referring to the efforts of the United States and Israel to weaken the power of the Shiites in Lebanon by targeting Hezbollah, the prominent professor at Najaf Seminary considered the statements of Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, who had called for the Popular Mobilization Forces not to repeat their experience, to be an insult to this resistance force.
He supported the Iraqi Foreign Ministry's position in summoning the Lebanese ambassador to explain these statements, saying: "This action was an appropriate response to the insult that was inflicted on the Popular Mobilization Forces." He also called the Lebanese authorities' attempt to justify these remarks "aggravating the situation."
Ayatollah Mousavi went on to state that the Lebanese political atmosphere is completely under the influence of the United States and Israel, naming figures such as Joseph Aoun and Nawaf Salam, and adding that Lebanon's internal crises are related to the Lebanese themselves and that Iraq has not interfered in this regard.
He also pointed to Iraq's extensive aid to Lebanon, accusing some Lebanese officials of ingratitude, and emphasized that this aid is provided solely because of the Lebanese Shiites and the spiritual and brotherly ties between them and the Iraqi nation.
In another part of his speech, Ayatollah Mousavi criticized the government's domestic policies and addressed the Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani: "You traveled to Britain and agreements were made that no one talks about. But the Iraqi nation is aware and will not be easily deceived."
