Hawzah News Agency - Imam Zain al-Abidin, peace be upon him, prays to Almighty God in Sahifa Sajjadiyya as follows:
«اللَّهُمَّ ... اکْفِنِی مَا یَشْغَلُنِی الاِهْتَمامُ بِهِ.»
"O God! Suffice me in matters that engross me and distract me (from You and the hereafter)."
(Sahifah Sajjadiyyah, Supplication no. 20)
Explanation:
It often happens that a person intends to perform a good deed, but obstacles arise that prevent them from carrying it out or delay it. At times, one becomes so preoccupied with worldly affairs—many of which are trivial and insignificant—that they are hindered from pursuing meaningful, spiritual, and valuable goals.
Imam Sajjad, peace be upon him, teaches us to ask Almighty God to provide sufficiency in our affairs so that nothing slows or halts our progress on the path of servitude to Him and the attainment of divine objectives.
God states in the Quran:
«أَلَیْسَ اللَّهُ بِکَافٍ عَبْدَهُ.»
"Does not Allah suffice His servant?"
(Quran, 39:36)
Through the beautiful words of Imam Sajjad, peace be upon him, (mentioned at the begining) we can respond to this question in the Quran:
Yes, indeed! O God, surely You suffice me.
O Lord! Truly, You suffice me in managing and taking charge of my affairs.
"and Allah suffices as guardian." (Quran, 4:45)
O Lord! During hardships and difficulties, Your help and support are sufficient for me.
"and Allah suffices as helper." (Quran, 4:45)
O Lord! In the face of the whispers of the evil-commanding soul (Nafs al-Ammarah) and Satan, Your guidance suffices me.
"and your Lord suffices as guide." (Quran, 25:31)
And O Lord! I rely and depend only on You, for You suffice me in protection and defense.
"Allah suffices as trustee." (Quran, 33:3)
