Hawzah News Agency- a narration from Shia source of emulation Grand Ayatollah Hussein Nouri Hamedani has been published on the occasion of anniversary of January 9, 1987, the historic uprising of the people of Qom in support of the Islamic revolution and the late leader of the Islamic Revolution.

“On January 9, before noon, the gentlemen had gone to the homes of some religious scholars, and they had arranged to gather at our house in the afternoon.” He noted.

He went on, “This gathering was also announced during the congregational prayer. From around 1:00 PM, some people arrived and installed several loudspeakers inside the house and alley. Gradually, the crowd came into the courtyard and rooftops, and the alley was so dense with people that the crowd had reached the street.”

"I considered it my duty to speak out and clearly state the crimes of the tyrannical regime, so I gave a comprehensive and strong speech against the crimes of the Shah's regime.”

“The people were stirred up by this comprehensive, logical and powerful speech and took to the streets while chanting slogans. I myself considered it necessary to move with the people." He said.
