Mohammad Reza Aref has been appointed as the First Vice President under President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Hawzah News Agency- Mohammadreza Aref is a 73-year-old reformist politician who also served as the first vice president during Mohammad Khatami's administration, and was appointed as the first vice president of the 14th Iran government by order of Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian.

The text of the president's decree is as follows:

In the name of God

Dear Mr. Mohammad Reza Aref

Based on Article 124 of the Constitution and taking into account the level of merit, valuable management and executive experience, I hereby appoint your Excellency to the position of "First Vice President".

Our common pact is the vision document, general policies and the seventh comprehensive plan, which should be put on the agenda with all the strength and participation and cooperation of all and the use of all capacities.

Management of meetings of the Council of Ministers, establishing coordination between ministers and executive officials, notification of the Government Council's approvals and follow-up on the implementation of the results in assigned matters based on the joint covenant and ethical charter of the 14th government officials are expected.
