Hawzah News Agency- Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, Head of Iran’s Seminary had a meeting with the president and members of the Iran’s Psychology and Counseling organization on Wednesday, August 3 in Qom during which he stated,” the counseling category needs serious monitoring, care and guidance, and this organization is therefore responsible for adopting a strategic and very important role in this regard.”
Stating that the path of Islamic seminary has been re-designed and re-engineered in the last few years, Ayatollah Arafi went on,” There are as many as a hundred transformation plans under way in the seminary. During past few years, according to the experiences gained, several important projects were done, one of which is that the seminary drafted long and strategic plans as well as a long-term vision, based on which the first five-year plan was drawn up.”
The director of Iranian seminaries continued,” Under these programs and documents, more than 100 important and strategic plans were identified to reach a comprehensive and responsive seminary whose missions are program-based.”
A member of the Supreme Council of Islamic Seminaries noted that during the past 40 years he hasn’t spent a night without thinking about humanities and Islamic sciences and said,” There is a critical need for transformation in humanities, which has not been achieved in a large percentage. In most of these fields, philosophy and field-oriented jurisprudence is required , which seminary has many weaknesses in these two axes of the field, for example, in the philosophy of Islamic psychology, there should be a philosophy on the level of Asfar and Nahayeh al-Hikma written by Late Allameh Tabatabaei, and it requires a specific jurisprudence supervising them.”
Ayatollah Alireza Arafi went on to say despite the fact that we are talking about the achievements of humanities in the Islamic seminary, we should not be satisfied with our present situation; he said,” theorizing in all fields is not only limited to jurisprudence or philosophy, rather it requires many conditions, but the infrastructure is what is already mentioned.”
“In order to improve the Counseling Organization, we must use the experiences of the world and respect their achievements, the same way we must also look at our religious and cultural approaches.” He added.
Emphasizing that we are ready for promoting international interaction, Ayatollah Arafi concluded, “One-sidedness and disregard for cultural and religious infrastructures is not rational.”
