Hawzah News Agency –An Iranian University Faculty Member Dr. Masoumeh Zahiri said in an interview that Eid al-Adha is considered as a return to oneself, renewing the covenant with God in obedience and Servanthood and moving towards heaven.

She added, “On this day, God subjected Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) to the test of sacrificing his son and for the sake of God, and this was the beginning of the test of submission to God's command.”

The university professor continued, “This day coincides with the movement of Imam Hussain (PBUH) with his children and his family on the path of enjoining good and forbidding evil.

Dr. Masoumeh Zahiri further noted that the Eid of Sacrifice and the Eid of Servanthood are a clear and instructive path and set an example for mankind and added, “Man does not reach his full spiritual potential unless he falls to the ground and prostrates at the threshold of God.”
